Write for us
Clear Design Journal welcomes considered pitches about how digital interfaces communicate. We are interested in specific, useful ideas that help readers notice a design choice and understand its effect without assuming specialist knowledge.
What we welcome
Pitch explainers, comparisons, histories, close readings of a design convention, or practical pieces about a familiar digital task. Strong subjects have a clear centre: for example, a label that sets the wrong expectation, a navigation pattern with a revealing trade-off, or feedback that makes an action easier to understand. We are not looking for product promotion, sweeping claims about what all users need, or copy that depends on inaccessible testing.
What to include
Send a working title, a short summary of the central idea, the kind of reader it serves and the examples or sources you expect to use. Explain what the piece adds beyond familiar advice. Keep the proposal focused, distinguish what you have observed from what you infer, and flag any relevant commercial connection.
Sending a pitch
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then include your proposal in the message. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication. Please do not send confidential materials or personal information about people who have not agreed to be included.
Clarity is a design choice
A screen can look polished and still leave people guessing. We pay attention to the words, structures and signals that make digital experiences easier to read.
